Pet R&D Coordinator
Weaver is seeking a collaborative and detail-driven Pet R&D Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will help bring innovative pet products to life—from the initial concept through launch. You’ll serve as a central point of contact across departments, manage product testing, and support training, marketing, and go-to-market strategies. The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with managers and the New Product Development team to coordinate the development and launch of new pet products.
- Serve as the central liaison between Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service.
- Gather and analyze product feedback from internal teams, brand ambassadors, and industry partners.
- Lead product training for Customer Care, Sales teams, and retail partners.
- Coordinate branded promotional items (leashes, goggles, collars, apparel) for marketing use.
- Manage the product testing process—including selecting testers, tracking performance, and collecting feedback.
- Assist in setting development costs, sales forecasts, and pricing strategies.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on launch plans and go-to-market strategies.
- Provide Marketing with product features and benefits for packaging, web content, and promotional materials.
- Track product issues and suggestions related to pet gear and accessories.
- Support leadership by prioritizing initiatives that align with strategic goals.
- Monitor customer feedback and product performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain proactive communication on development progress with internal and external teams.
- Conduct regular market audits and identify product gaps or opportunities.
- Oversee lifecycle updates for products, including improvements or discontinuations.
Our ideal applicant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Animal Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in product development or R&D within the pet, animal health, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding of pet products and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with product tracking tools a plus.
- Able to work on-site at our Mt. Hope, OH headquarters; some travel may be required.
