Category Specialist – Leather Supply

Weaver Brands is seeking a motivated, organized, and curious Category Specialist to join our Leather Supply Category team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys learning about products, solving problems, and working collaboratively across multiple departments.

In this role, you'll support the day-to-day activities of our Leather Supply category while developing expertise in leather, tools, hardware, and equipment. Working alongside the Category Manager, you'll help coordinate product evaluations, quality initiatives, supplier communications, promotional activities, and cross-functional projects that bring great products to our customers.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support the day-to-day execution of Leather Supply category initiatives and priorities.
  • Coordinate product evaluations, quality reviews, and category-related projects.
  • Investigate product concerns, assist with corrective actions, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Care, and other teams to execute category initiatives.
  • Review leather, hardware, tool, and equipment samples while assisting with product evaluations and special buying opportunities.
  • Help support promotional planning by coordinating inventory needs and category priorities.
  • Coordinate supplier follow-up and help ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Assist with trade shows, customer events, product presentations, and other category activities.
  • Develop product knowledge while supporting ongoing category growth and improvement initiatives.

Our ideal applicant:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, purchasing, customer service, retail, leathercraft, agriculture, or another product-focused environment is helpful but not required.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Curious, eager to learn, and enjoys solving problems.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Willingness to learn technical product information and apply it to support business decisions.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Mt. Hope, Ohio headquarters.
  • Occasional travel for trade shows, supplier visits, customer meetings, and company events may be required.
