Assistant Category Manager – Equine

Weaver Brands is looking for an Assistant Category Manager to support product development, commercialization, and category initiatives for the Weaver Equine brand. This role will help coordinate products from concept through launch while working closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, and Customer Care.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate product development and commercialization activities from initial concept through launch.
  • Manage product samples, testing, revisions, timelines, and development activities with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Help keep product development projects organized and on track by coordinating milestones, approvals, documentation, and launch readiness.
  • Conduct competitive product reviews and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential product improvements.
  • Gather feedback from customers, sales teams, independent reps, Customer Care, and end users to help support product and category decisions.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, and Customer Care to support successful product launches.
  • Assist with sales presentations, product information, training materials, merchandising initiatives, and customer-facing resources.
  • Support and attend trade shows, customer events, vendor open houses, sales meetings, and product launches as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, Project Management, Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Early-career experience in product development, category support, project coordination, marketing, sales support, or a related area preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a high level of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Creative mindset with an interest in products, materials, design, and consumer brands.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project tracking or product management tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable traveling occasionally for trade shows, customer visits, and company events.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the equine industry, with a strong preference for candidates involved in Western riding disciplines.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Mt. Hope, Ohio headquarters.
