Our History
Since our humble beginnings, Weaver has become a driving force across various industries including equine, livestock, leather supply, pet, arborist, tool gear and custom manufacturing. Below are some highlights from our history that have paved the way and prepared us for continued growth.

1973
Fryburg Shoe Shop was founded by Harry A. Weaver. He operated out of his 20' x 40' garage. The primary focus was shoe repairs.

1974
With the shift toward manufacturing leather goods. Harry changed the company name to Weaver Leather Goods.

1981
Paul H. Weaver was appointed as president of Weaver Leather Goods.

1982
The first catalog was printed - a black and white 10 page catalog featuring horse halters, cattle and pet supplies and various hardware pieces.

1983
Weaver Leather Distributing Co. was founded to distribute a variety of leather and hardware.

1984
First annual Weaver Consignment Auction was held.

1984
Weaver Leather Goods and Weaver Distributing Co. merged to form one company, Weaver Leather, Inc.

1989
Acquired ProTack® and began manufacturing nylon products under the ProTack® name.

1994
Weaver Leather introduced the first exclusive items - The Miracle Collar® and Lil' Dude® Stirrups.

1998
Acquired Morgan's, a manufacturer and distributor of western saddlery items. Launched Weaver West line of luggage and bags.

2001
Acquired Mast Harness Hardware, a distributor of leather, hardware, dyes, finishes, harness parts and machine parts.

2001
Introduced Smart Cinch® with Roll Snug® Buckle.

2007
Acquired Bells & Sleigh Bells, the makers of harness bells, door hangers and gift items.

2009
Launched Sarah Weaver's Fine Gifts product line, formerly Bells and Sleigh Bells.

2010
Introduced the patented Master Tool Little Wonder.

Acquired Grand Drive Livestock Supply, the makers and distributors of livestock liquid and aerosols.

2011
Acquired eZall® Technologies, the leader in bio-based grooming supplies for horses, livestock, dogs and cats.

2014
Acquired Silvertip®, the original makers of our popular line of rope halters that are hand-tied with pride in the USA.

2015
Introduced Terrain D.O.G.®, our premium line of pet products developed with a mission to empower adventurous pet lovers and their four-legged sidekicks to take on any terrain.

2017
Jason Weaver was named CEO and president of Weaver Leather.

Acquired Troxel Cycling & Fitness, LLC, the world’s leading provider of ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmets.

2019
Introduced Weaver Tool Gear, a premium line of tool belts built with hardworking materials and American workmanship to meet the needs of professional tradesmen.

2020
Acquired CoolAid®, a line of products for equine and pet that focuses on cooling and icing animals that is powered by Coolcore® technology.

2022
Acquired Ohio Travel Bag (OTB), a Solon, Ohio-based supplier and distributor of hardware and related products that has served a multitude of industries and end markets since its founding in 1908.

2023
Acquired Rex Specs, a Wyoming-based leader in protective eyewear for active dogs, known for its durable, functional, and reliable products. The brand has established a strong presence in the outdoor canine gear market and earned a loyal customer base through its commitment to quality and innovation.

2025
Mike Davenport was named Chief Executive Officer of Weaver.
